How to spot an engineer who has a tech background.1) The hiring Manager will focus on:• The company’s core competencies• The hiring company’s top tech-related issues• How the hiring Manager thinks about the tech industry in general• The team’s experience in hiring and mentoring technology talent.2) This will show that the hiring Assistant Manager has a deep understanding of technology, and is well-versed in it.
This will help them get to know the candidate better.3) The manager will focus more on the company’s “Tech Skills” (e.g. what the company does in terms of hardware and software).
This will be important for a few reasons.
First, the manager will likely want to know what skills the candidate has in other areas.
This is also why it’s important to see if the manager has met the candidate before, and how well they know the company.4) This is an important part of an hiring manager.
They’ll want to be able to explain how the hiring process works and how it’s done.5) This should show the hiring assistant has the ability to get to the bottom of what’s going on inside the company, especially in regards to tech issues.6) This might show that they’ve met the hiring staff before.7) This can indicate that the hire manager has been involved with tech before, or they’ve mentored others who’ve been in tech.8) This could be an indication that they’re already involved with hiring for a company outside of their area.9) This would indicate that they are a leader in tech and/or have an understanding in technology, either from the hiring or from their past experience.10) The Manager’s resume should be strong, but there’s a bit of work left to be done.

The more the candidates skills are in line with what I think are the right skills to have, the easier it is to find the right candidate.)
