Honda is expected to start delivering a test truck in the United States in about a month, just ahead of the arrival of the 2019 Honda XR450h.
Honda’s latest test truck, the Merced, is powered by a four-cylinder diesel engine that is powered from a single electric motor, and it is expected that the truck will be the first commercial electric vehicle to enter the U and U.K. markets, according to Honda.
The Merced is expected in the next two to three months, Honda said.
The vehicle is expected at an entry-level price of $35,000, Honda noted.
In addition to the Merci, Honda will also be testing its newest model in the future, the XR650h.
The XR250h is expected sometime this year.
Henderson is currently in the process of designing the X-Trail, a truck with a diesel engine powered by an electric motor.
Honda said that it is still in the preliminary design phase, but the company has been working on it since the beginning of the year.
The company is aiming for a 2019 launch, Honda added.
